Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
I offer a sliding fee scale on a case by case basis to members of marginalized communities, especially queer individuals with eating disorders.
Can I opt out of using insurance?
In most cases, yes, you may opt-out, but there are a few exceptions. Please contact me to discuss.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice of a cancellation, or reserve the right to charge a $50 late cancellation fee. If you have medicaid, this fee does not apply.
Do you charge for Gender Affirming Surgery letters or sessions?
By default, I do not charge for these sessions. If you are seeking an evaluation for the purpose of gender affirming surgery, I only charge insurance in cases where a client is in a financial position to do so, and requests me to bill for the session. I never charge for a letter. I participate in the Gender Affirming Letters Access Project (GALAP) and provide several free sessions each month for this purpose.
What billing protections do I have?
The No Surprises Act was enacted into Federal Law on January 1, 2022. To read about the protections this affords you, please see this link.
